:: Starburst center medallion with intricate floral blossoms stemming therefrom. At either opposing end are two birds perched in a colorful tree atop an open abrashed ivory ground. Corner spandrel overlays loosely reciprocate the contour of the main medallion and the perched birds with sharp serrated contour and elaborately colored palmettes, blossoms, and minor botehs filled throughout. Highly unusual format of saddle bag size, shape, and use. Not only rare to find in scale and proportions, but also likely intended use, in addition to an ivory ground which is more sought after. Colors and shades include: Ivory, sapphire blue, sky blue, pale tangerine orange (believed to be natural), jade green, aubergine, navy blue, pale saffron yellow, and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. This rug is wider than it is long, and sizes have been inverted from our normal convention to ensure presence in our size range search filter. The shape of the rug is slightly trapezoidal which is within normal margins for type and age. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
